Our Testing Process

Every Batch. Every Time. No Exceptions.

Testing is not a marketing exercise at Golden Shilajit Official. It is the operational standard that every batch of our purified Himalayan Shilajit resin and drops must meet before it reaches a customer.

This page explains exactly how our testing process works — from raw material intake through independent laboratory analysis to the publication of results that anyone can verify.

Stage 1: Raw Material Intake Assessment

Every batch of raw Shilajit that arrives from our verified collection sites in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan is quarantined on arrival. Before it enters our purification process, it undergoes an intake assessment covering:

  • Visual inspection for colour, consistency, and the absence of visible contamination
  • Solubility assessment in filtered water
  • Odour evaluation against our established benchmarks for high-quality raw material
  • Documentation review — collection site records, altitude verification, harvest date

Raw material that does not meet our intake standards is rejected. It does not enter our process regardless of supply or cost implications.

Stage 2: Multi-Stage Purification

Accepted raw material undergoes our multi-stage water-based purification process. This involves dissolving the raw Shilajit in clean filtered water, removing insoluble particles through multi-stage filtration, and carefully concentrating the solution through controlled low-temperature evaporation. We repeat this cycle multiple times.

Temperature is monitored continuously throughout purification to protect fulvic acid content. We do not use chemical solvents at any stage. The purification process is entirely water-based.

For a full explanation of our purification process, see: Our Manufacturing Philosophy.

Stage 3: Pre-Release Quarantine

After purification, every batch is quarantined pending independent laboratory testing. No batch is released for sale until testing is complete and results are confirmed as passing.

Stage 4: Independent Testing by Eurofins Scientific

Every batch is submitted to Eurofins Scientific — one of the world’s largest independent testing organisations, operating over 900 laboratories across 60 countries with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.

Eurofins has no financial relationship with Golden Shilajit Official beyond the testing fee. Their results are independent. They have no incentive to produce a favourable outcome.

Testing covers:

  • Heavy metals by ICP-MS — lead, arsenic, mercury, and cadmium tested against California Prop 65 limits
  • Microbial safety — total aerobic plate count, yeast, mould, coliforms, E. coli, and Salmonella tested against USP standards
  • Pesticide residues — screened against EU Maximum Residue Levels using GC-MS and LC-MS
  • Solvent residues — confirmed absent, consistent with our water-based process
  • Identity verification — fulvic acid content confirmed by laboratory analysis

Stage 5: BSCG Certification

Our products hold BSCG (Banned Substances Control Group) certification. BSCG requires brands to test every production batch against a panel of over 500 substances and submits the testing programme to independent auditing.

BSCG certification is not a one-time achievement. It is an ongoing commitment that requires continuous compliance — batch after batch.

Stage 6: Results Review and Release Decision

When Eurofins results are received, they are reviewed against our internal acceptance criteria. A batch passes only if all results are within the specified limits. A batch that does not pass is not released.

Stage 7: Public Publication of Lab Reports

Passing results are published on our Lab Reports page without restriction. No sign-up. No request form. No delay.

We publish our results because transparency is not optional for a brand that makes the claims we make.

Our Testing Standards at a Glance

  • Heavy metals: California Prop 65 limits
  • Microbial safety: USP standards
  • Fulvic acid content: 40–55% by dry weight, independently verified
  • Pesticide residues: Below EU Maximum Residue Levels
  • Solvent residues: None — water-based process only
  • Testing frequency: Every production batch
  • Laboratory: Eurofins Scientific (ISO/IEC 17025 accredited)
  • Certification: BSCG, ongoing batch-level
