Our Founder Story
Golden Shilajit was built on a straightforward premise: if you are going to sell Shilajit, you should know where it comes from, how it is processed, and what independent testing actually shows. This is the story of how that premise became a business.
Where the Journey Began
My involvement with Shilajit began in 2012. At that point it was not a business — it was proximity to the source. Working close to the Pakistan Himalayan region, I had access to raw Shilajit and to the people who collected it. That access came with an education I could not have got from a product label.
The first thing I learned was that raw Shilajit is not the finished product. What seeps from mountain rock faces is a raw geological material — variable in quality, inconsistent in composition, and not suitable for consumption without purification. The difference between material collected at high altitude from verified sites and material sourced from lower elevations or through anonymous brokers was visible and measurable.
The second thing I learned was that most of what was being sold in international markets bore little relationship to what I was seeing at the source. Bold claims, minimal transparency, and almost no independent verification. That gap was the starting point for everything that followed.

Why Source Matters
Golden Shilajit raw material is sourced from Pakistan's Himalayan region — specifically the Gilgit-Baltistan area. We source from verified high-altitude collection sites above 3,000 metres. Every batch of raw material comes with collection site records, altitude documentation, and seasonal harvest information.
Raw material is assessed on arrival before it enters our purification process. Material that does not meet our intake standards is rejected. We do not blend material from multiple unverified sources to meet demand.

From Traditional Knowledge to Modern Purification
Our purification process uses water-based dissolution, multi-stage filtration, controlled concentration, and natural sun drying. No chemical extraction solvents are used at any stage. The process is designed to be repeatable and documented, with batch identification at every stage.
