Where Our Shilajit Comes From

Raw Shilajit is sourced from mountainous regions of Pakistan, in the Himalayan range. Shilajit forms naturally in high-altitude rock formations over geological timescales, accumulating in rock crevices and becoming accessible during warmer months when it seeps to the surface.

The Pakistani Himalayan region is one of the primary geographic sources of Shilajit globally. Golden Shilajit works with sourcing networks in this region to obtain raw material for purification and processing.

From Mountain Rock to Raw Shilajit

Raw Shilajit is a naturally occurring material that accumulates in and around rock formations at high altitude. It is collected from these formations before being transported for purification. In its raw state, Shilajit contains physical impurities from the surrounding rock and environment and is not suitable for consumption without further processing.

Collection is carried out by local sourcing networks in the region. The raw material is then assessed and selected before entering the purification process.

Our Sourcing Approach

Golden Shilajit sources raw material through established supplier relationships in the Pakistani Himalayan region. Our sourcing approach focuses on raw-material selection, supply continuity and traceability through the purification and testing process.

We do not currently hold formal fair-trade, ethical-trade or environmental certification for our sourcing operations. Where we can provide specific, documentable information about our supply chain, we do so. Where we cannot, we do not make claims we are unable to substantiate.

From Raw Material to Purification

Raw Shilajit requires purification before it can be used in finished products. Golden Shilajit uses a water-based multi-stage purification process designed to separate physical impurities from the raw material before further processing. No chemical solvents or synthetic additives are used in the purification process.

Purification is a necessary step between raw collection and finished product. It is not a guarantee of any specific compositional outcome. The composition of the purified material is documented through independent laboratory testing on a batch-specific basis.

Testing Beyond the Source

Sourcing and laboratory testing are separate parts of the quality process. Independent laboratory testing documents the composition of the purified product on a batch-specific basis. It does not verify sourcing conditions or environmental claims.

A More Transparent Approach

Golden Shilajit's position is that specific, documentable information is more useful than broad claims that cannot be independently demonstrated. Where we have laboratory results, we publish them. Where we have certifications, we document them. Where we do not have formal documentation for a claim, we do not make it.

This applies to sourcing as much as it does to product composition. We describe our sourcing process as accurately as we can, and we distinguish clearly between what is independently verified and what is our operational approach.
